Lil Wayne and his insane, never, ever quit work ethic. The Drought Part 6 is now available and you can get your hands on it here. Haven’t had a chance to give it a full listen through, but Red Magic (track 2) is dope, and they cop one of Jay’s verses from American Gangster for the hook.
Oh, and 808s & Heartbreaks is the MAD NOTE.
I bought this album on Friday and this is the epitome of dick rips. A super dope album that is front to back solid. They draw on so many influences from one track to the next and play all of their own instruments for the beats they make and write some slick rhymes. I recommend this gem to all of your mothers.
Also, 808s & Heartbreaks released yesterday and Kanye is EVERYWHERE. The AMAs, Letterman and now the top of the charts again. I’ve yet to hear it in it’s entirety but I am anxiously awaiting the full cut. And is it just me or does he look like he’s ballooned up a little bit, especially in the face?
I thought this was both creative and hilarious, and the whole forum post in general is pretty much great. Big up to E for sending this link to me. Check out the full kit here.
…you’re gay? Because you post Coldplay videos on your blog. But seriously, doesn’t the fact that Jigga absolutely kills his verse with introspective intellect negate the first part? Whatever, they make some good tunes, I won’t live in denial. This is going to be on there new EP coming out.
Coldplay feat. Jay-Z – Lost
I plan on making this purchase today because sometimes you get the urge to support an artist who is doing something new or creative or is just a talented dude. Some people think it’s silly to go buy an album when everything is available free online, but I’ve tried to get back into purchasing again, although my last buy was a flop (go listen to T.I.’s Paper Trail and tell me you disagree).
88 Keys has been all over the place and this drop has gotten rave reviews so I’m hoping to be blown away…
This video is so fresh. Straight superstars having mad fun. De La Soul, Kanye West, Mos Def, Nas, Damon Albarn, will.i.am, Consequence, Mr. Hudson, Tony Williams, Kid Cudi, Big Sean all on stage at a G.O.O.D. after party in London. The only disappointment is towards the end when DJ Green Lantern starts playing tracks with the MCs vocals on them and that Cudi and some others don’t get a chance to shine. Nonetheless, this is absolutely phenomenal.
It has begun…
I know that there are already haters everywhere for all this new material, and as it reaches more of the masses, the haters will exponentially increase. As for me, I am digging almost all of his new jamz, with the exclusion of the Weezy jam, which the jury is still out on.
All of the new drops can be found on Hypetrak, and HERE is a link to a Kanye search from the site.
I dropped the ball a bit on the photo op from Halloween, so this is basically the extent of the photographic documentation from the night, which may or may not be a good thing depending on how you look at it. A little disappointing, but you can get an idea of how awesome the night was based on our costumes. Add in some six jams, bevvies, friends and glowsticks and it’s a surefire recipe for disaster/success.
