The Umbrella Academy Dallas

Gerard Way’s The Umbrella Academy Dallas paperback trade came out yesterday and I went and picked up at lunch today since they were sold out yesterday. The first collection was good, but lacked a little cohesion as far as the story line, but had potential and well illustrated by Gabriel Ba. I’m pumped to read it this weekend.

Ellsworth and I had a conversation regarding this subject, but I want a girl who rocks Married To The Mob.

Edit: Per E’s request, here is some visual representation of what I may be looking for.

BK-One feat. Brother Ali and Scarface – American Nightmare

Another super slick jam with the Street Preacher and Scarface. Mellow and ominous track courtesy of Benzilla*. I might have to grab this album, too.

Cop that thing.

*Thanks oconno for setting me straight on this

The History of Conversate

Posted in music, musings/writings/creations by arcanedufresne on October 2, 2009

While listening to Nas this morning while getting ready for work, Book of Rhymes came on and I heard Nas use the word conversate. I remember a long while back when Chingy’s One Call Away was on the radio, my friend Geoff was upset at Chingy for using a made up word. After a while I realized the word is used more often than you think and I wanted to compile a list of songs/artists who use conversate in their rhymes. I’m going to be editing this list throughout the day so please help contribute if you come across any.

So far I’ve got :
Nas – Book of Rhymes
Chingy – One Call Away
Notorious B.I.G. – Big Poppa
Case – Conversate
