Mickey v. Manny

Another part of SDCC that has been great to catch up on was all the great new toy/vinyl releases and exclusives. This one was shown prior to SDCC and is one of the coolest collaborations I have seen in a while courtesy of Mindstyle. Mickey v. Manny, an epic 15 round showdown.

Fruitbrick

Coincidentally, I love fruit and Bearbricks. CLOT 6th anniversary fruit themed Bearbrick lineup from Medicom is just plain fun. I think the canteloupe is my favorite.

Ells, doesn’t this make you want to set up the old park on the basement bar?

Jiminy Crickaws

Posted in toys by arcanedufresne on June 29, 2010

Kaws has a way of taking things of simplicity and making them pretty great. If only his work was more affordable to the average mid-20-something with no real income (i.e. me). Regardless, something about this new set of Pinocchio and Jiminy Cricket really do it for me.

Tony Bearstark

There are times when a collaboration between two entities come together and they form such an ideal union that I fight to hide my joyous boy grin. This is one of those times. Bearbrick. Iron Man. Slated to release in August, and it’s a 400%, so maybe this time I will have to drop the green to make this toy mine. Donations welcome.

Deathbot Delivery

Posted in toys by arcanedufresne on June 7, 2010

Since moving, I have started having any purchases I’ve made online shipped to my office. Mainly because I don’t feel like things I get delivered to my new house in “the ghetto” would last all day on my front step, but also because I’ve discovered how awesome it is to have things brought to you by Don the Mail Guy in the morning to really pick your day up. Case in point, this Gama-Go Deathbot was handed to me about 10 minutes ago and now I am stoked on the day.

St. Pete 7

Posted in toys by arcanedufresne on May 13, 2010

Vinyl Pulse has lead me to the discovery that there is a Super7 store in St. Petersburg. Mook knows where it is and I hope I can talk him into stopping in for me sometime and picking up a Mummy Boy or Mummy Gator.

De La Robot

Posted in music, toys by arcanedufresne on March 24, 2010

I can’t think of any really great reason why I should buy these….umm…my half-birthday is on next Thursday? My love for vinyl toys continues to grow as I get older (kind of the opposite of what should be happening, right?) and Kid Robot kills it again with the amazingly great De La Soul 3 pack. Check it out here for more pictures of each individual figure as well as ordering information…

A.D.I.D.A.E.T

Posted in art, toys by arcanedufresne on February 17, 2010

All Day I Dream About Expensive Toys. I don’t think there will ever be a point in my life where I will not want to buy and enjoy toys. I still make a quick pass through the toy aisles when I am at Target or Wal-Mart. So when the day comes that I have the financial means to maybe purchase one or two of these bad boys below, you better believe I am going to do it. Take that fiscal responsibilities and consciousness! These post-apocalyptic World War Robot toys were created by Ashley Wood and 3A.
